Week 2, learn to fill your calendar in advance
Second week
of blogging about myself and my studies in Business in a Digital Environment.
On my past week my calendar was pretty much filled up even before the start of
the week. On Monday I had class from 12 to 16, on class we were introduced to
Minni Ruhtinas, developement Manager of Telia. She told us about co-operation
of us and Telia where we students will work on three projects assigned by
Telia. She also gave us a brief timetable of following moths and how we will
work on upcoming projects. She told us also about the final goal of our project
that is a meeting with more Telia’s people and where the best projects and
their final executions are awarded or selected to be used on Telia’s upcoming
plans.
Our first
assignment was to work on current products and make a project plan regarding to
make current products more appealing to a wider customer group and also make
products easier to buy and get your hands on them. We managed to create a basic
project-/business plan and we’ll work on it within upcoming weeks.
On Tuesday
we had a class about our mandatory course that is included in this main course,
but I was unable to attend that class, because I also had a mandatory training
in my new workplace that I couldn’t miss. Luckily I got pretty well hang on
what was discussed on the class after chatting with my friends. Next week I will
still make sure that I know all the important things about that course.
From
Wednesday to Friday my schedule was also filled with mandatory attendance in
training in my new job, so I wasn’t able to take part to the Thursday’s class,
but we sorted that out with our group, because three persons couldn’t attend
that class. In training I was taught all the sales systems that I need while
working, including a system that I make the deals on, financing systems with a
bank, insurance systems inside the company and care service systems also from
the company. I was also taught how to calculate margins on products and make
sure that business is running smooth with my sales.
Now I am
looking forward for the next week, as we can start really working on our
project as a group as everyone should be able to attend all classes next week
and we have already decided to have an extra meeting as a group to catch up
after last weeks absence of some group members. But it’s still nice to know
that our project plan is in a great shape and that it should be pretty easy to
start working with it and start executing our plans. Also what I am keenly
looking forward is that I can start really my part time job after all
those mandatory and at the same time pretty dull and boring trainings that I had
this week. I have been waiting around 3 weeks to continue my career as salesman
and I just can’t wait to start sales again.
